Sheep. You know the ones. Woolly four-leggeds synonymous with Wales. They flock together and follow each other and never see much more than the field that they’re in. It’s an ok life for a sheep but there are those among us that lift our heads above the mountain. Those that hunger for hidden caverns, artisan gin and stinkingly good cheese. For trail runs and tumbling waters. Coastline and castles. Forests and lakes. For places we’ve never seen and will likely never forget.

Meet Anwen

Our Ford Tourneo Custom can get you places. And she’ll do it in comfort. Anwen has got it all going on with air conditioning throughout, multiple USB charging ports, bags of space and a friendly seating design so you can chat to your fellow explorers, or awkwardly avoid eye contact. There’s room for eight humans and two dogs, drive time is short between locations and Anwen is yours for the whole tour. We won’t squeeze other groups in or subject you to any stranger danger. Not unless that’s what you’re into.

Our story

Knowdonia was born out of the proud Welsh heart of Christian. Along with wife Annie, the two packed in the city, returned home and set up The Rocks at Plas Curig, now one of Europe’s favourite 5* hostels.

The Rocks at Plas Curig Hostel

Having met thousands of guests, it became achingly clear that people were missing out. That the other countless peaks and endless miles of wild beaches and National Park were being unexplored. People were coming all this way and only seeing a slice of the pie.

Christian felt that being a qualified Lowland Leader, he could put this accolade to good use. Taking folk like you out in the van to adventure the very best bits of this gaspingly beautiful land.
