A truly amazing mountainous landscape featuring some of the most dramatic natural geological beauty anywhere in the world. There is no doubt that the imposing centrepiece Yr Wyddfa (or Snowdon in English) is the star of the show, as it stands proud above the beautiful land around it. Dubbed as one of the most unique railway journeys in the world, take an unforgettable journey to the rooftop of Wales on the Snowdon Mountain Railway. Learn two of Wales’s most celebrated legends, including the lofty mountain home of the dragon seen on the Welsh flag. Glacier hewn valleys, sinuous ridges, sparkling rivers and charm-infused mountain villages in abundance, it is of no surprise that this region is the most popular in North Wales.

What you can expect

Take a short hike around a ‘Cwm’ - a glacial amphitheatre, amongst several 3000ft mountains. A botanist's paradise and a favourite haunt of Charles Darwin, stare in disbelief as you stand at the foot of stunning rock formations and its rare and fragile plant life.

Immerse yourself in one of Snowdonia's loveliest villages, named after a tragic tale about a Prince and his faithful hound. Learn a few phrases of our mother tongue - ‘Cymraeg’, one of the oldest languages in Europe (and we think, the most beautiful).

Visit Gwynedd’s county town, home to a medieval castle that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the finest example in the UK. Wander down the narrow streets, take in the local craft shops, independent cafes and stylish waterfront overlooking the Menai Straits.
