Snowdonia isn’t just mountains. It also includes some of the most idyllic beaches and spectacular stretches of coastline in Britain. Mountains sweep down to the sea in a series of stunning estuaries and big beaches. Pretty little seaside resorts with pastel-coloured terraces, quaint old harbours and with trails along idyllic old rail routes. Learn about shipwrecks and mysterious Roman steps that climb up into the last true mountain wilderness left in Wales. Board one of the world's oldest narrow-gauge steam trains as it snakes through woodland and over ravines at the foothills of the Southern Snowdonian mountains to a collection of exquisite waterfalls in perfect surroundings.

Marvel at a clifftop medieval UNESCO World Heritage Site castle, that crowns sheer rocky crags overlooking dunes far below as the rugged peaks of Snowdonia rise as a backdrop.

Spectacular walking country through mountain-locked former slate villages and a small hamlet made famous by a Welsh girl who, two hundred years ago, saved her money for years and walked twenty-six miles barefoot across the countryside to collect a Welsh Bible.

Meander around a small seductive little seaside village where the river meets the green-blue waters of Cardigan Bay. Go crabbing from the quayside or enjoy a glass of local wine on a quaint narrow street as it rises up to spectacular viewpoints overlooking boats in the bay and views across the estuary.
